Making renovations and expanding can be an option. Enjoy a yard where you can put a garden or a pool maybe. A single family house can be an excellent investment at the same time. Such property have wider appeal compared to condos and will mostly increase its value at a better rate in the real estate market. The only unfavorable thing with traditional homes is that it is a more expensive home type. You need to pay for the maintenance alone and you'll be needing to fill empty spaces in the house with appliances.
