The economic climate in the UK is still a challenging one and there are fears of a double dip recession. The economy is taking longer than expected to recover, which in turn is having an impact on the property market across the UK. In some regions in the UK price fluctuations have been prolific over the past two to three years, with some regions doing better in value than others.

Although the UK market seems to be surpressed and stagnant at the moment, there are still signs in pockets of UK areas that the market and demand are bucking the downward trend.

Lincolnshire is proving a popular place to live for residents, and to match demand, many new developments in Lincolnshire have been built and are now launched onto the property market for residential buyers.

Many UK house builders have taken advantage of this interest in the county, including Chestnut Homes, who have launched their Manor Farm new homes for sale in Lincolnshire which is located in the village of Bardney. This development has properties to suit all kinds of budgets including two bedroom starter homes for those who want to get onto the property ladder but don't have much budget and three bedroom bungalows.  At the other end of the scale, there are also luxury new developments at Manor Farm available with five bedroom family houses designed to high specifications, and with high quality fittings and finishes.

One of the biggest headaches for people that want to uproot and move to another area is often trying to find the right property rather than the actual move itself. Bristol is a popular choice because of its great lifestyle and cultural environment. And with the range of new developments in Bristol it shouldn't be as difficult as you might think to find the perfect home.

£1 Million Properties See An Increase In Sales in the UK

Posted by Sonya Brice in Untagged

The top end of the property market has defied the economic downturn in the UK and has become the fastest moving property sector for sales of properties worth £1 million and above.

According to research by Lloyds TSB, over 7100 homes have been sold for over £1 million, which is a 54% increase compared to 2009 and the largest annual increase since 2006.

Most of the million pound home sales took place in the South East of the UK and in and around London, with a total of 83% of sales transactions made out of the whole of the UK.

However, the West Midlands and new homes in Birmingham saw the biggest increase in sales of 109%. The East of England, new homes in Suffolk and new homes in Norfolk also saw an above average increase of 62%.

However, there were also a number of regions which didn’t see an increase but a decrease in sales for £1 million and above, such as sales of new homes in Wales decreasing by 25% during the year. New homes in Scotland also saw no real increase in sales growth.

The number of £1 million sales show a marked growth compared to the lower end of the property market in the UK.  It also demonstrates that a small number of areas in London account for the majority of the million pound sales. The reasons for this rise in sales are because of the wealthy international buyers and the fact that there is a limited supply of high end properties on the market.

When purchasers in England and Wales are thinking of buying new houses, Scotland has a very different conveyancing process compared to buying in England as the Scottish conveyancing law is different to that in England and Wales.
