Despite all the negative publicity that Dubai has been receiving, I would like to say and state, that until you actually live here and see exactly what is happening, that the recent comments and bagging of Dubai is just plain bullying on part of the global press.

I have lived in Dubai since March 07, and seen the boom and the bust, yet I am still here, and active in the market.

Dubai has become a very normal real estate market, and not many people world wide understand the complexities of this area.  The boom could not go on forever, and yes, I agree, there was a lot of greed. But Dubai has so much more to offer than just real estate and glitz.

Dubai is a place of family  traditions & built on a foundation of strong leadership and moral values.

Dubai will always be a strong city & our leader, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed  Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, is one of the most significant and visionary leaders to ever come in to this world, and has brought world focus, to what was once a little trading port, in the desert. This man walks among his people, and he personally talks to and shakes the hand of  poor, and can walk down the street or inside a shopping mall, without threat.  Expatriates like me, consider it a priviledge to live in one of the safest countries in the world, free of drugs and violence & it is many thanks to this man & his vision for his country.

Did you know that 64% of the income that comes in to Dubai is through the Free Zone Trading & NOT the real estate market?  Another 18% is through Tourism?  Only 12%  of the income is sourced from the Oil & Gas industry, followed by 6% of the Residential & Commercial Real Estate sector. Only Dubai will always be the CENTRAL HUB of EUROPE & ASIA, either through travel or trade.
