Sell your home successfully without having a broker on your side

There is much to be done when selling your home without the help of a Realtor.  However, selling your home on your own can be a profitable and satisfying experience if you successfully sell it more than the price you want. Nobody aside from you knows better the excellent features and points your home has and the neighborhood as well. Aside from that, you ensure yourself to earned 6% commission or higher, so you can price your house more aggressively. Selling your home by yourself is not as difficult just like others are saying. In fact, you might do better than an agent would because of the adequate time you can give to the task.

Do your homework

The difficulty to add your home on the MLS is one of the disadvantages of not having a Realtor on your side.  The MLS is a complete list of all new and previously listed homes for sale by the Realtors nationwide. Only real estate agents can list on the MLS. However, you can often find broker that will list your home for you and not provide any other services for a relatively low fee. Your home will be now available to be seen by potential home buyers in your area once you successfully added your home on the listings.

In searching for comparables, websites such as Zillow and Traulia are good source of information that shows home prices in your neighborhood. Knowing prices in your area is significant for you to come up with a good competitive asking price.

Increase the Curb Appeal of Your Home

Give your home a more appealing looks as possible before you start your marketing and selling job. Different areas of the house must be perfectly clean. Get rid any clutter in the yard, plant some flowers and keep sidewalks free of debris. Inside, do the same thing by keeping it clean and clutter free. Clear your kitchen counters with things that you really don’t need and keep it on the storage room. Polish wood floors and clean your carpet. Anything you do to make your home able to stand out from its competitors in the area is important.

Market your home effectively


You need to create an excellent marketing campaign both online and offline. Don’t be contented on local newspaper classified ads advertising. Go online and start to list and advertise your property in websites like, Zillow, Traulia, Craisglist and eBay. In fact, most home buyers are using online search to view and find available homes before they personally visit the actual property. Hold open houses and put signage to immediately encourage buyers to call you. Put signage when holding open houses to encourage buyers to call you. If your home sits in the corner lot, you must put at least two signs on it.
