According to a pair of unrelated surveys, investors and developers are posed to increase their real estate spending.
A new global survey by Colliers International revealed that two-thirds of large institutional investors are ready to increase their real estate portfolios, with the majority of the 244 respondents saying that they believe that the market is at or near the bottom. Meanwhile, more than 70 percent of investors and developers polled by Jones Lang LaSalle said they planned to bump up their commitment in real estate compared to 2009. A fifth of the small 60-person sample—attendees of the Urban Land Institute’s Spring Council Forum—said they would increase their spending by more than 75 percent.
