Buying my first condo was frightening and thrilling at the same time, but overall it was an amazing and enjoyable experience for me. Well, here I am living in my condominium and boy I learned a lot during the buying process and that’s what I want to share with you.
The first thing I learned is on how to pick real estate agent I know or at least one who has been recommended by friends. Some can be trusted and some are not, there are so many behind the scenes transactions that you didn't know or tell you. There are times that you will be thinking if the agent you hired really cares if you get a nice deal or not.
I also learned on how to check the construction. Here in our area you will prefer to have a concrete based construction, why? This is often hit by a hurricane and concrete Roy Utah condos has the higher chance of surviving. If you want to know what the building is made of and the construction material use, ask the building owner or the Realtor. Without hesitations they will answer your questions.
Know the exact price. You must conduct a research to know the surrounding units selling prices. You can determine selling prices of the condos for sale West Bountiful Utah around you by conducting research. Compare the asking price the seller have for you to the other units sold last month. Negotiate if the seller’s expectations are too high.
Don't bite with too high asking price. I have heard in some of my friends living in the nearby area that some houses going for more than that asking price. This is nuts! They are acting as if their homes for sale in Roy Utah are the only remaining properties in the area. Never bite too high offer and just look for motivated sellers.
Spotting motivated sellers. If the owners still living in the residence means that they are not motivated to sell. On the other hand if the property is vacant and electricity and water are cut off, you can assure that seller is more motivated to sell, why? Because they are now paying two mortgages at the same, mortgage for their current property and an empty condo.
These are my experiences that will hopefully help you get your first condo that you can be proud and happy. Good luck!
