In 1983 Bob Melvin decided to make Boca Grande his home. Bob moved from the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo to the Boca Grande Club, where he excelled at selling condominiums, homes and lots on and around Boca Grande. With in five years, his reputation as a top island area Realtor allowed him to establish in 1999 the Gasparilla Prosperities Real Estate Company, which is the Island’s premier Real Estate Company. The office is located on the premier corner that he and his partners also own. He has established, as the sole proprietor, Bob Melvin Properties specializing in providing full services to clients in the Cape Haze, Placida, and Englewood areas. Bob has brokered multi-million properties including luxury beach, bay golf, residential, multi-family, commercial, and land.

Bob has been an elected board Supervisor for the Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority, board member of the Boca Grande Child Care Center, Chairman of the Island Conservation and Improvement Association. He is a member of the Gasparilla Inn, Boca Grand Club, Boca Bay, Boca Grande Pass Yacht Club, Lemon Bay Gold Club, Lemon Bay Conservancy, and the Placida Rotary Club. Bob was the original founding member of the new Tom Fazio golf course in Placida, the home of the Coral Creek Club.

His holistic view of giving back to the community is expressed by his statement, “I love to give back to the community, I like helping people, and you have to remember the community that helped you achieve your success.”

Bob has followed his own advice and has owned properties in Boca Grande, Placida, and Englewood. He is proud to call Southwest Florida home.
