To earn the designation, Realtors® must complete the core course plus one elective. Three electives are available: Residential, Commercial and Property Management. The two day core course is offered at an exclusive introductory price to members attending the conference. The classes will be taught by international speaker and REBAC Hall of Fame Instructor, Terry Watson.
“Realtors® understand the importance of green building practices and trends, and consumer demand for professional knowledge surrounding these issues is growing at a phenomenal rate,” said NAR President Richard F. Gaylord, a broker with RE/MAX Real Estate Specialists in Long Beach, Calif. “NAR’s Green Designation will ensure our members have the insight and tools to serve environmentally conscientious consumers and commercial investors.”
The program is designed to help Realtors®:
• Understand what makes a property green
• Explain to clients and
customers the cost benefits of green building features and practices
•
Distinguish between industry rating and classification systems
• List and
market green homes and buildings
• Discuss the financial grants and
incentives available to homeowners
• Guide buyers in purchasing
resource-efficient homes
